Sen. Pat Toomey unveiled a proposed budget this week that would mandate broad tax reform and fiscal discipline. Unlike the budget proposal by Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, Mr. Toomey's plan would not eviscerate Social Security or Medicare.

Sen. Pat Toomey unveiled a proposed budget this week that would mandate broad tax reform and fiscal discipline. Unlike the budget proposal by Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, Mr. Toomey's plan would not eviscerate Social Security or Medicare.
In their reactions, tea party advocates and others revealed that their agenda is not to battle federal debt but to tear up the social contract.
"...You leave Medicare alone, which methinks indicates you lost your nerve," Fox's Neil Cavuto admonished Mr. Toomey.
